Global Education Opportunity Of A Lifetime

Study in 40 countries with a full scholarship

World Innovation Team

The Global Study Tour is a one year, higher education level study and training program in innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants will study each month in a different country and visit 40 countries worldwide during the program. They will literally go around the world while picking up the skills and creative mindsets necessary to generate ideas, do consulting and conceive and launch a business which has an all‐important “competitive advantage”.

It is an advanced level, specialized program in English which will lead to the awarding of a professional certificate. The program is a dynamic mix of study at universities and private institutions and practical, problem based learning sessions in firms where participants will work on real‐life projects assigned by the institutions. There are no other higher education programs that take students around the world while they study.

The program will consist of 8 study courses (1 per month), plus 3 problem based learning sessions at firms or institutions. Because the group will travel together, informal sessions and talks by professionals will be periodically held. These informal sessions will be in addition to the stipulated classroom hour sessions. Courses will include:

• Creativity and Innovation (pure creativity)
• Entrepreneurship (ideas with competitive advantages)
• Decision making and problem solving
• Design principles
• Social psychology
• New technologies and social media
• Creativity and Innovation (applied creativity)
• Entrepreneurship (marketing and launch)

Lecturers will fly in from every corner of the world. Some courses will be taught by university professors and others by business professionals. The certificate will be granted upon completion of the program. Most international programs in the arts offer certificates not degrees, since with certificates you can offer the courses you believe fit a specific program while degree programs force participants to study and pass certain (often tedious) requirements.

Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model

The PBL model takes students out of the classroom and into the field to work on current, real life problems and projects. In PBL, they will be given collective assignments by a firm or institution and will try to come up innovative solutions, using theories learned in the program. The advantage of the PBL model for participants is that they form breaks from the classroom and provide a way for participants to apply what they have learned. The distinct advantage to PBL over case study is that PBL are current, real life problems and issues, whereas in the case study method students are studying what happened at a certain period of time. In effect, case study is studying history. Hence the PBL model is more dynamic.

Work on Social Issues

The team will work on a series of social problems throughout the year, posing questions and challenging dominant logic. By turning things upside down and inside out, we aim to find workable, innovative solutions to some of the more challenging problems. True, that’s ambitious. It’s also true that most of the time the team will come up with nothing, but if we come up with only one idea that benefits humanity, then it’s worth it. For an example, please refer to the section on the website on our 195goGlobal project.

Part-time Program

Participants may enroll part-time and still qualify for scholarships. The only commitment is to do the initial program course with the group. After that, participants can design their own schedule based on their professional and personal commitments. Part-time students have 3 years to complete the program. This option is designed for people who are working or who have prior commitments that do not allow them to be available for an entire 11 month program. Transportation costs to and from the World Innovation Team group would be at the expense of part-time participants.

Apply for a Scholarship

Participants can apply for a full scholarship and pay nothing for tuition, accommodation and travel for the entire program. We want the world’s best and brightest people on this team, and we realize that not everyone will be able to afford such a global program. That’s why we’re offering so many full scholarships, to attract the very best from every corner of the globe.

Countries to Be Visited

Asia: Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam
Europe: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Switzerland
Africa: Morocco, South Africa
Oceania: Australia, Fiji
Americas: Bermuda, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Panama, USA

Countries will be substituted if conditions call for it during the year. This may be due to unforeseen events such natural disasters or conflict. Countries that are undergoing instability or conflict, or which had significant outbreaks of disease, also will be avoided. Significant visa issues (problems) might also warrant changes in the above. Security for the group will be a high priority

The Only Way to Teach Innovation

Creativity is not a gift but an attitude. In order to get people to embrace that attitude you have to get them to stop trying to control everything and that means getting them out of their comfort zones for a sustained period of time.

The purpose of the program is to get people to go as far as they can, physically, mentally and emotionally so that they can recover their natural creativity and start to consistently see other perspectives. Creativity is about seeing connections between things that seem to have no relationship. In order to do that, you have to allow people to free themselves from the restrictive habits and patterns which push them into thinking and seeing and acting in certain repetitive, conventional ways. To see the connections, we don’t have to be in any kind of “wonderland”, but like the character Alice, in the story by Lewis Carroll, we just need to be capable of getting there. This program is a trip into the wonderland of creativity. No other program teaches innovation this way.
